Myles Garrett

by Yuvi K - December 29, 2023

Myles Garrett has quickly become one of the most feared pass rushers in the NFL. After being selected no. 1 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, Garrett made his presence felt immediately in the league, recording seven sacks in his rookie season.

Garrett hails from Arlington, Texas and attended Texas A&M for college. He emerged as a star at Texas A&M, becoming a unanimous All-American in 2016. Garrett was a two-time first team All-SEC selection at Texas A&M, and the 2016 Ted Hendricks Award winner, which is given to the nation’s top defensive end.

Garrett has continued his impressive play in the NFL. He started all 16 games in 2018 and recorded 13.5 sacks, 40 combined tackles, and four forced fumbles. His strong play earned him a spot in the 2019 Pro Bowl, as well as being named a Second Team All-Pro.

The 2019 season saw Garrett take his game to another level. He recorded 10 sacks in the first eight games, and he recorded 10.5 over the last 8 games. He was again voted to the 2020 Pro Bowl, and was recognized as a First Team All-Pro for the first time in his career.

Under the guidance of defensive coordinator Joe Woods, Garrett has become a leader on the Browns defense. With the addition of fellow edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney in 2020, the Browns defense is set up for a successful season with Garrett and Clowney leading the charge.

Garrett is only 24 years old and is already an All-Pro and Pro Bowl caliber player. It’s safe to say that he’s just getting started and will be dominating pass-rushers on the NFL for years to come.
