Cell Structure

Cell Membrane

Cell Nucleus

The cell nucleus (कोशिका का पुरुषगर्भ) is the organelle that houses the genetic material, or DNA, of the cell. The nucleus also contains a variety of enzymes and other proteins that regulate gene expression. The nucleus is surrounded by a nuclear envelope, a double membrane that separates the genetic material from the rest of the cell.

Cell Organelles

Cells contain a variety of organelles (अंतराशियों) that enable them to perform a range of functions. The mitochondria, for example, is responsible for producing energy for the cell.

The endoplasmic reticulum helps to package proteins and lipids into vesicles, and the Golgi apparatus sorts and transports these vesicles to their target destinations. Other organelles function to break down molecules and recycle materials.

Cell Function

Cells must be able to interact with their environment in order to survive and function properly. This is accomplished through the production of proteins and other molecules, which can be created by the cell from genes within its nucleus. These proteins can then be secreted from the cell in order to communicate with other cells or carry out other tasks.
