Morphology (मौर्फ़ॉलॉजी (Morphology)) is the study of the physical form and structure of living organisms. Animal morphology is an important field of study that investigates the relationship between the structure of an animal and the ecology in which it exists.

Fundamental principles of animal morphology are based on evolutionary biology, which studies how the physical features of animals have developed and changed throughout time. Organismal morphology studies the structures of the whole organism in relation to its environment. This includes the study of features, such as size, shape, body composition, and posturing.

Systematic Morphology

Systematic morphology studies the physical features of different organisms, primarily to identify and catalog them. The goal of this type of morphology is to help distinguish between members of different species and classify them correctly.

Evolutionary Morphology

Evolutionary morphology studies the evolution of structures within different species of animals. It focuses on how the physical features of animals have changed over time due to environmental and genetic factors. It also looks at how characteristics, such as structure and behavior, have adapted to fit the organism’s particular niche in the environment.
