Calculating Mode

Finding the mode is a fairly simple process that involves counting the number of occurrences of each data point in a given set. The data point that occurs most often in the set is the mode. Let us explain it through an example.

Now let us move on to a slightly more complicated example when the data is not just a list of numbers but a list of groups of numbers. Suppose you have the following data set, which is grouped into ranges:

To find the mode of this data set, first look for the group with the highest frequency (in this case, 11 – 20). The range 11 – 20 has the highest frequency, so the mode is 11 – 20. What is the Significance of Mode?
